Madrid, July 13, 2011 --The Madrid Convention Bureau, one of the institutional partners of the 19th Conference of the European Association for Sport Management 2011, has awarded Mr Gerardo Bielons, Chair of the 19th EASM Conference Madrid and local organiser of the event, in recognition to his efforts in promoting Madrid as the city-host for the next EASM Conference.

Recognition Night is held every year as part of the Madrid Conference Advisors Programme, set up in 2008 with the aim of promoting Madrid as a national and international conference centre. The Awards Ceremony is a way for The City Council to pay tribute to the figures who like Gerardo Bielons, have played their part in making the capital a centre for new conferences.

The Madrid Convention Bureau is a non-profit organisation created by the City Council in collaboration with a group of public and private companies from the sector, with a view to promote Madrid as a city capable of hosting national and international meetings.

We are happy and honoured to share this recognition with all participants, speakers, delegates, partners and sponsors of the Conference, the Master Student Seminar and The Forum.
